ELENI GEORGAKAKIS
Eleni Georgakakis was born and raised in Sparta, Greece. She is a graduate of the
University of Massachusetts, Boston with a Master’s Degree in
Applied Linguistics and a Bachelor of Arts in English and
Classics. She holds a MTEL Certification in Communication and
Literacy. Her qualifications include: Cultural awareness;
experience in curriculum development; knowledge of assessment
practices; skills for applying theory and principles in
promoting learning to individuals from diverse cultural and
linguistic backgrounds.
She has taught both children and adults English and Greek in
afternoon and public elementary schools. In her classroom,
she emphasizes creating awareness and instilling an
appreciation of the Greek culture and traditions. Her focus
is on teaching children to discover the potential in
themselves and she stresses learning in a fun and stimulating
environment. She is an early chlildhood Montessori teacher
employed full time in the Melrose Montessori School in
Melrose, MA.

MARIA MOURATIDIS
Maria
Mouratidis
hails from
Thessaloniki, Greece. She came to the United States 8 years
ago with a background in Marketing. She has been taught Greek
Folk Dances at the
Ηπειρωτική
Εστία
Θεσσαλονίκης.
Teaching the Greek Language and Culture to the children of the
Greek Omogeneia is an issue close to her heart. She served as
the Director of the Greek Education & Culture Program in the
Taxiarchae Church in Watertown, MA. She enjoys working with
pre-school age children. She is known to the community for
her enthusiasm, effective teaching, spirit of teamwork. She
utilizes interactive activities to develop language and
improve social skills. She motivates her students learn
through role play, movement, dance, singing, games, arts and
crafts. She has a remarkable ability to communicate with
young children and create a happy, caring and stimulating
learning environment. As a hard-working, full of energy
teacher she has become an asset for the Greek 4 Kids School
with duties that include Assisting the Director. She
currently works full time as an assistant branch manager at
the Benjamin Franklin Bank.

MARIA HARALABATOS/Educational Consultant
Maria Haralambatos
was born in Constantinople, Turkey and raised in Athens,
Greece. She came to the United States in 1990 to pursue
college education. She received a Bachelor of Arts from
Hellenic College in 1995 and a Master’s in Elementary
Education and Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley College in
1998. She holds a Professional Educator’s Grades 1 through 6
Licence, #328559, from the Boston Public Schools. She has
gained experience as a teacher and administrator. Her career
highlights include the following: Elementary School Principal
(2000-2002), Third Grade Teacher (2000-2002), Art and Greek
Folk Dances instructor (2005-2006) at the Hellenic American
Academy in Lowell, Ma; First Grade Teacher (2002-2005) and
Reading/Literature Teacher for Grades two and five (2005-2006)
at the Lowell Community Charter School in Lowell, Ma. Maria
offers valuable input with curriculum and classroom management
issues. She is also a folk dance teacher, having studied
Greek Folk Dances in Greece from teachers of the “Dora Stratou
School of Dancing”.
